Alberta Women In Public Safety Awards 2025
Nomination Form

When filling out the nomination form, please answer the following questions in clear, detailed, and everyday language. Think of it like you're telling a story to someone outside of public safety who doesn't know your nominee. Avoid technical terms or acronyms, and paint a full picture of why this person deserves recognition.

Here’s what each question is really asking for:

1. Describe the extent to which your nominee’s actions have contributed to the mentoring of women in public safety.

What we want to know:
Tell us how your nominee has helped support, guide, and uplift women in the field. Be as specific as possible, did they mentor someone directly? Start or lead a program? Act as a role model? The goal is to show how they’ve made a difference for other women in public safety.

Examples to include:

  • One-on-one mentorship or coaching

  • Advocating for women’s advancement

  • Leading initiatives or programs focused on supporting women

  • Creating a more inclusive or supportive environment

2. Describe how your nominee overcame a specific obstacle that demonstrated courage and resilience.

What we want to know:

Think of a real situation where your nominee faced a serious challenge, on the job or personally, and showed exceptional strength and determination. We’re looking for a story that shows their character, their ability to persevere, and their impact in difficult circumstances.

Examples to include:

  • Overcoming adversity in the workplace

  • Facing a personal crisis while continuing to lead or serve

  • Standing up for what’s right under pressure

  • Leading through a crisis with strength and compassion

3. Describe how your nominee has improved relationships between public safety and the community.

What we want to know:

Explain how your nominee has helped build trust and strong connections between public safety and the people they serve. Focus on concrete actions and real outcomes, what did they do, who was impacted, and how did it make a difference?

Examples to include:

  • Organizing or participating in community outreach programs

  • Building partnerships with specific communities or organizations

  • Creating safe, welcoming spaces for public engagement

  • Addressing barriers or mistrust through their work

Please take your time, include as much detail as possible, and remember: this is your opportunity to tell the story of someone truly deserving of recognition. Make it personal, impactful, and easy to understand, even for someone outside the world of public safety.

If you need support or have questions while filling it out, we’re here to help!

Please note: Once you submit the nomination form, you will not be able to make any edits. That’s why we’ve provided the questions in advance, to give you time to thoughtfully prepare your responses and ensure your nominee’s story is shared clearly and completely. We recommend drafting your answers beforehand and then copying them into the form when you're ready to submit.
